Purple Pants Update

I was brave. I wore the purple pants and the navy striped shirt, but I didn't like it. Every time I passed a mirror and caught a glimpse, my confidence in the fashion attempt diminished. If anyone else was bothered by my outfit, I didn't hear about it. No snickering from my middle school students or any of the teachers that I encountered. Nobody complimented it either. I am guessing nobody else actually cares what I wear. Today I donned the pants again. I was working at a different school, come on I wouldn't even consider wearing purple pants twice in a five day period at the same school! Instead of trying to be bold, I paired those pants with a crisp black button down dress shirt and my favorite pair of funky black Korks clogs. I feel more confident and I think it looks better too. I guess sometimes you can boldly try something new and then decide it just isn't comfortable. It wasn't a fashion failure, I have no regrets, it was a learning moment, a chance to see if something new would open doors or show me where the window is. No doors were openned here. I will keep trying new things that make me feel a little vulnerable or uncomfotable because that old cliche is just 100% true, you really never know until you try it! So my advice is, be bold in a big-small way but learn from my experience - there really is no need to wear anything other than a black shirt with those purple pants.
